KASAULI – Hill Station for a Breathtaking Holiday

Hi all, long time no see, I know this type of delay is not acceptable anywhere, but well yes, I am sorry, for being this late. There is also an idiom in Hindi “Der aye Durust Aye” ... I am also here with another new experience of mine from Kasauli.

Well as we know the last post that was posted by me was on Kashmir – ‘Another Name for Heaven’ and this time I am  here with Kasauli – a hill station located in the Solan District of Himachal, on the way to Shimla, many of the readers of mine, might have not listen about this place but still many would have already visited this place or even might be planning to  visit it at least once.

Imagine one swing in the lap of the nature, enjoying the immense beauty of sunset, or the one leading towards the heaven step by step to visit the old famous temple, popular by the name of the Manki Point. I witnessed all of this, which motivated me to write about this place, Kasauli a town which entirely is under the control of Military, it is a hilly cantonment place with paradise attraction that offers a soulful satisfactory and peaceful experience.

The most exciting thing about this place is that, the people who have busy schedule, they can also plan to visit this place, as all the beauty of this place can be felt and witnessed very easily in two or three days. So, I personally after visiting this place do not find any reason, for not going to this place at least once or even twice and many more times.

It is a place where we can enjoy or own personal time, I frankly enjoyed my personal time away from rush in peace with refreshing climate. I mostly visited the Church, it is located on the lower Mall Road, a place that provides full peace to my mind, there I also went to pleasing woody forests of Pine and Cedar Trees, beauty of which cannot be justified in just few words, even various endangered species of Fauna are also found in the forests of Kasauli.

A place which owes its magical and sedate environment of lavish Victorian buildings, built by the Britishers who inhabit here years back, these architectures and buildings themselves deliver the amount of memorable past of this Hill Station. This place is not about particular attractions or activities, but it is about the Serene environment and enchanting tranquility (calmness) that it provides.

The best places to visit in Kasauli are –

·         Gilbert Trail – Gilbert Trail a path to nature walk, is the most beautiful place to visit in Kasauli, when I went the weather was hot but as I was covering the path, weather itself started to change and then what could be felt by me was only the peace and the fresh natural air and once I reached to the end I felt like I am in a paradise. This place is literary a Paradise. It is a stone walkway of approximately 1.5 km fully covered and surrounded by greenery of the nature, it starts with a lover’s lane and leads towards the lap of the nature. Apart from the luscious greenery and soothing flora you will come to know that you are also a nature admirer. This place is also an excellent spot for watching birds, for fetching full natural beauty. Must plan to visit Gilbert Trail if you are going to Kasauli.

·          Sunset Point – The name itself defines the peace and epic beauty of the place, it is just perfect place for the one’s who love photography, admire natural beauty and loves adventure. It is so obvious that I visited this place in the evening, but as I had already heard from many people that there are various swings placed at this place so, I went quite early and what I witnessed there again amazed me the swings that are placed there are placed so beautifully, that while enjoying on the swings itself one can enjoy the breathtaking beauty and calmness of the sunset. If you are planning to visit Kasauli you must keep this point in your things to do list.

·         Manki Point – The only point which is not visited just for the perspective of the beauty but is also connected with the spiritual believes of the people, as it is not just the normal monkey point but there is a Hanuman Temple situated on the top of the mountain which is believed to be the resting point of Lord Hanuman at the time when he was carrying the Sanjeevani Booti to Lanka, many tourists found themselves connected to this point because of this belief. It is also the point which is completely under Air Force Station where like me you can also witness everything from their arm and capture the serene breathtaking view of the nature. This is one of the best places to visit as through this path we can feel and enjoy the nature from more closeness.

·         Christ Church – As I have already described about this place that how peaceful this place is, this is a historical landmark in the town located near the main Mall Road, it is the oldest church of Himachal but once you will visit here the gothic architecture and the cemetery around the church will leave you spellbound as I was, and really like me you will also not feel like leaving this place for hours.

·         Mall Road – As its name already explains the best place for foodies and shopaholics like me and unlike you, from good colorful clothing’s, handicrafts, wooden works and mouthwatering delicacies local food items and fresh drinks all are available at one place in this Mall Road. This place is suitable for all seasons, so one can visit there in any season and spend time making memories.

Last but not the least, if you are just finding a good gateway from the hectic schedule of your daily life, Kasauli will provide you the ideal environment to soothe your nerves.
