KASHMIR – Another Heaven for World is
located between Great Himalayas and Pir Panjal Ranges. It is like The Diamond
Crown for India, beautiful mountains covered with snow and also it is an
important source of great rivers that flows into the valleys.
Mughals
in their time said aptly about Kashmir as “Paradise on Earth”, for the valleys
of Kashmir it’s aforesaid by Jahangir a Mughal Emperor that “IF THERE IS
PARADISE ANYWHERE ON EARTH, IT IS HERE! IT IS HERE! IT IS HERE!” which is

Weather in HEAVEN
Kashmir

WINTER – Time for heaven to be covered with
sheet of Snow is from December till the beginning of March, it showcase
Srinagar in yet another mood. Unclad snow, which covers the landscapes,
mountains, lakes in such a way that automatically turns on the mood of a
person, when it is watched, besides the warmth of fire that joy cannot be
described to anyone who has not yet experienced it.
Some
of the hotels and the houseboats remain open even in winters, either they are
centrally heated or heated with ‘Bukharis’, typical Kashmiri stove kept alight
with ember woods, that is quite effective in winters.
SPRING – Time when even the nature is in
its finest mood, prolongs from March till early May. It is the time when in Kashmir
you can apprize the breathtaking beauty of Dal Lake, Passes, Mountain Peaks,
Rivers, Historical Monuments and Gardens. It is a unique combination of nature
and manmade beauty.
It
is the season of brief showers of rain in Srinagar. The time when almonds, cherries,
apples, peaches, pansies, narcissi, daises etc are shooting out of their buds,
which makes entire valley sopping the bloom and luring aura of flowers and
fruits that magnetize all senses.
SUMMER – Time when the beauty is so immense
that it can’t be expressed, it prolongs from May till the end of August. At
this time one can find Kashmir as the most delightful place to visit, as this
is the only time when all the colors of the world can be seen at one place,
called the Heaven on Earth.
Light
woolens clothes are required to be wore by the people, as it is the time when
the entire valley is plaid of varying shades of green, people can see rice
fields, meadows, trees, lakes and waterways that is just a heaven.
AUTUMN – Time when green turns to gold and
then to russet and red, it is the time that starts with September move with
October and further drop by November, when the winters with heavy woolen
starts. As the people of Kashmir known as ‘Kashmiri’s’ living in the
countryside prepare to harvest their crops, paddy and trees laden with apples
shows the sign that fruits are waiting to be picked.
Golden
brown rice pasture, streams bringing down crystal clear water from the
mountains, cicada insects singing, these are the indications of the fabulous
beauty of the autumn in Kashmir.
Beauty in HEAVEN
DAL LAKE – Dal a beautiful lake is in
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir is the second largest in
the state and an important source of commercial operations like fishing, and water
plant harvesting. When one take the name of Kashmir this DAL LAKE automatically
becomes the first place to visit in our list. Vast sail, serene water of Dal
which is fenced by lavish Mughal styled garden and lined with houseboats built
by British, all this cuddled by the foothills of Zabarwan mountain range. This
lake is “Jewel in the Crown of Kashmir”. People here can relax on the deck of
houseboat and enjoy the grand glimpse, or can even have a ride on “Shikara” (a
gondala (like boat)) and adore the vision of floating gardens filled with
lotus, fruits, vegetables and markets.
GULMARG – Meadow of Flowers originally
called “Gaurimarg” is located on Pir Pinjal Ranges just miles away from L.O.C.
Gulmarg famous for its different varieties of flowers, highest green golf
course in world and especially skiing in winter has an altitude of 2,650 m. One
can explore Apharwat Peak, Gulmarg Gondola, Gulmarg Alpine Guides, Ski Resorts,
Outer Circle Walk, Rani Temple and many more beautiful places to make a trip
memorable. Visit to Kashmir is still incomplete without Gulmarg, land of White
Carpet.
PAHALGAM – Jewel in Hill Station. It’s
naturally splendid with snow attired mountains on all sides with river of white
water crisscrossing the bottom that adds to trekking and pony ridding which
makes a world class package for vacations. Pahalgam showcase the most
mesmerizing glimpse of snow crown Himalayas. The river Jhelum flows through
this place, as the water of this river that flows through Himalayas is so pure
and divine that it’s the main source of water for people living there. It is
the starting point for the Holy place “Amarnath Yatra”, from this point one can
either go by foot or hire a source of pony to reach the cave of “LORD SHIVA” in
peak winters an ice linga is formed at the entrance of the cave which is
visited by most of the Lord Shiva followers in the peak yatra time.
SONAMARG – Meadow of Gold is located on
Srinagar Ladakh Highway. It is a popular tourist place for the Thajiwas
Glacier, where people can experience hike up on the glacier to enjoy the
trekking and exploring the astonishing charm of Sonamarg, one can also hire
pony service to enjoy the Thajiwas Glacier. It is the best place for one to
bargain with best deal. This place is most popular from decades for Bollywood
shooting spots. It is also a best place for honeymoon couples as there are
numerous hotels and resorts popular to enjoy swiss tents to glamp.
